• Girl Scout's mural encourages Carmel community to give back (youarecurrent.com) — A Carmel High School freshman has completed a colorful new mural at the Carmel Lions Club that celebrates service and community. Created for her Girl Scout Silver Award, the artwork highlights local landmarks and encourages residents to volunteer. You can see it in person at 141 E. Main St., where Scouts and Lions frequently partner on service projects.
   

• Carmel High School student combines chess, giving back (youarecurrent.com) — A Carmel High School senior is using his Summit Chess Club to grow the game locally while raising thousands for the American Cancer Society. The nonprofit runs free weekly sessions and tournaments in partnership with Carmel Clay Public Library and other area groups. Residents can join in-person or online activities aimed at making chess more accessible across Carmel and central Indiana.
