Carmel Clay Schools Superintendent Placed On Administrative Leave

Carmel Clay School Board of Trustees issues statement regarding superintendent Monday night.

CARMEL, IN – Carmel Clay Schools' Superintendent Dr. Nicholas Wahl has been placed on administrative leave. The announcement was made during a Monday night meeting by the Carmel School Board. The board released a statement made by Board President Layla Spanenberg.

“The board is undertaking a thorough review of its district leadership and believes that its action today will enable it to complete this review more quickly and in a manner that respects the confidentiality of its employees’ personal matters,” said Board President Layla Spanenberg in a letter to parents. "For now, the day-to-day operations of the school district will be under the direction of Dr. Amy Dudley, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, and Roger McMichael, Associate Superintendent for Business Affairs, serving jointly as interim superintendents."
