Carmel Residents, Businesses, Encouraged to Participate In Parade Of Pumpkins
The Community Activities Commission will be giving away free pumpkins on Oct. 16 and 23.

October 8, 2020
Although the City of Carmel-by-the-Sea’s Pumpkin Roll and City Birthday and Halloween Parade have been cancelled due to COVID-19, the Community Activities Commission is encouraging residents and businesses to participate in its “Parade of Pumpkins” and to go big on decorating their homes and businesses this year. String up lights. Put out cobwebs. Build a scarecrow. But most of all don’t forget to decorate or carve a pumpkin!
The Community Activities Commission will be giving away free pumpkins, courtesy of Carmel Gives, at the Carmel-by-the-Sea Farmers’ Market, located at Mission Street and Sixth Avenue, on Thursday, October 16 and October 23, from 10am to 2pm. Pumpkins will be limited to one per household/business while supplies last.
The Commission will be working with the Carmel Public Library to share the community’s “Parade of Pumpkins” and festive decorations on Facebook and Instagram. Tag the library in your post #carmelpubliclibrary or use the hashtag #CarmelPumpkinParade, and your pic may be featured in the City Administrator’s Friday Letter!
