State Senator Mike Delph Ordered To Serve In U.S. Army

CARMEL, IN — Indiana State Senator Mike Delph (R-Carmel) has been ordered to serve in the U.S. Army, WRTV reports. The news outlet says Delph has been ordered to active duty beginning Dec. 8, for a minimum of 31 days, and will be sent to Puerto Rico to help with Hurricane Maria recovery. WRTV adds Delph has been a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve for about 10 years.
According to David Long, Senate President Pro Tem, Delph, 47, will be granted time off from his State Senator duties while serving in the Army.
Delph has been a member of the State Senate since 2005.
