• Removal of failing East Fork White River dam now underway (therepublic.com) — Work is underway to remove a failing low-head dam on Columbus’s East Fork White River, a safety and river-health project partly funded by federal and state grants. The same dam-removal expert previously took out Edinburgh’s Thompson Mill Dam in 2024, and now aims to restore fish passage, stabilize riverbanks, and improve recreation access along this key regional waterway.
