Evansville City Council to consider data center moratorium (courierpress.com) — Evansville residents may soon see a 180-day pause on new data center projects, as a proposed moratorium heads to City Council for a vote on Sept. 14. During the pause, council members would study potential zoning changes, while neighboring Vanderburgh and Warrick counties pursue their own rules for data center development.
   

2. Mayor Terry announces multi-year partnership for Evansville EMS system (14news.com) — Evansville officials are launching a new fire-based EMS system backed by a multi-year partnership among the city, Evansville Fire Department and Deaconess Health System, aimed at strengthening emergency care for residents. Early changes include a smarter station alerting system that sends calls only to the responding firehouse, reducing sleep disruptions and improving responder wellness and long-term readiness.
   

3. Student hit by bus likely in hospital for months, mom says (14news.com) — A 13-year-old Evansville-area student hit by a school bus in Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park is facing months in the hospital after multiple surgeries for internal injuries and a severe pelvic fracture. Authorities say she was adjusting her backpack when a second bus turned into the lot, striking and dragging her before she was flown to Indianapolis for treatment.
   

4. Moore, WKU prepare for upcoming season (pmg-ky3.com) — Western Kentucky's men's basketball team will visit Evansville twice, first for an Oct. 25 exhibition against Indiana at the Ford Center and again for a Dec. 5 road game. The challenging nonconference slate is designed to prepare standout guard Teagan Moore and his teammates for a run at the Conference USA title.
   

5. WWE News: More Upcoming Raw & SmackDown Dates And Locations Announced (ewrestling.com) — WWE is bringing SmackDown to Evansville's Ford Center on Friday, November 20, giving local wrestling fans a chance to see a live TV taping close to home. Tickets for this and seven other newly announced shows go on sale Friday, September 11, with presale access starting Thursday, September 10 through WWE's website.
