• Third section of I-69 project opens in Evansville (wishtv.com) — New approach roads and three bridges for the I-69 Ohio River Crossing are now complete in Evansville, giving construction crews reliable access to the Ohio River for the future bridge to Henderson. The $202 million project is on time and on budget, and officials say the roads will eventually open to regular traffic once the new four-lane I-69 bridge is finished.
• House of Lecter celebrates 30th year, paying homage to longtime owner Phil Wolter (14news.com) — Evansville's House of Lecter kicks off its 30th season today, reopening its popular catacombs in a new, safer underground space. This year's haunted house also pays special tribute to longtime owner Phil Wolter, with multiple floors dedicated to honoring his legacy while delivering fresh scares through November 13 for anyone ready to be frightened.
• Evansville to host 2026 NAACP Indiana conference (tristatehomepage.com) — Evansville will host the 2026 NAACP Indiana conference next month at the Hilton DoubleTree, bringing members and guests from across the state into town. Local leaders like Mayor Stephanie Terry and NAACP President Sadie Harper-Scott will join other speakers for sessions on education, justice, health care, and more, with preregistration required for anyone who wants to attend.
