The 20-year-old driver, who said he was late for a child's birthday party, now faces multiple reckless driving charges and was booked into Vanderburgh County Jail.

3. 68-year-old Evansville man jailed for falsely reporting missing child as officers searched for hours (wthr.com) — Evansville police say a 68-year-old man falsely reported his granddaughter missing, sending multiple officers searching for hours before he allegedly admitted buying her a bus ticket out of town. He was arrested on a preliminary false informing charge and booked into Vanderburgh County Jail, with prosecutors now deciding on formal charges.
   

4. Annual Breast Friends Survivor Walk brings hundreds of supporters (14news.com) — Evansville residents turned out in large numbers Saturday for the 3rd Annual Deaconess Breast Friends Survivor Walk at Deaconess Sports Park, honoring local breast cancer survivors. Indiana wraps up I-69 Ohio River approach work, sets stage for 2027 bridge construction (21alivenews.com) — Work on the Indiana approach to the future I-69 Ohio River bridge at Evansville is now complete, setting up main bridge construction to start in 2027. The tolled bridge between Evansville and Henderson is expected to open in 2031, with decisions about the existing U.S. 41 bridges still under discussion.
