City parking garage prices to increase in Evansville (courierpress.com) — If you park in downtown Evansville's Third Street or Sycamore Street garages, expect higher costs starting November 1, with daily maximums rising to $10 and monthly passes to $65. The Evansville Redevelopment Commission approved the increases after comparing local rates to other Indiana cities, and officials plan to give drivers advance notice and update garage signage soon.
2. Salvation Army Evansville hosting workshop on upcoming Medicaid changes (14news.com) — Evansville residents on Medicaid are being urged to prepare for new eligibility rules starting January 1, which will require most adults to log 80 hours of work or other qualifying activities each month. To help people understand and keep their coverage, Salvation Army Evansville will host a free informational workshop at 11 a.m. on October 19 at 1040 North Fulton Avenue.
3. 'It's not like him.' Family of missing Evansville man asks for volunteers for weekend search (tristatehomepage.com) — Family members of a missing 59-year-old Evansville man are organizing a volunteer search this weekend and say they will not stop looking for him. They describe him as a devoted father and grandfather who vanished after car trouble near Mount Vernon, and ask locals to join the search starting 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Phillips Truck Stop on Broadway Avenue.
4. Evansville BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque Fundraiser October 24 (newstalk1280.com) — Evansville residents looking for a unique night out can catch the BBQ, Bourbon & Burlesque fundraiser on October 24 at Warehouse 410, supporting Matthew 25's HIV care across 12 Indiana counties. Guests 21 and over can sample bourbons, enjoy barbecue, bid in a silent auction, and watch a vintage-style burlesque show, all while backing three decades of local health services.
5. West Side couple celebrates over 60 years of Fall Festival traditions (14news.com) — Evansville's West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, now 105 years strong, continues to anchor community life on Franklin Street, especially for longtime west side couple Gay and Mick Arrick. After more than six decades of visits, they say the food, family-friendly atmosphere, and community support keep them returning, no matter how much the festival grows or the weather changes.
