Fishers shifts focus to recovery following historic flooding (youarecurrent.com) — Fishers officials say critical infrastructure is stable after historic regional flooding, but several neighborhoods, including Luxhaven, saw evacuations and ongoing displacement. Mayor Scott Fadness praised first responders and outlined the city's shift to recovery, while residents can access help through the Hamilton County flood recovery hotline and coordination with township partners.
2. Fishers, HSE High Schools Climb in New U.S. News Rankings (larryinfishers.com) — Fishers families can celebrate as Fishers High School and Hamilton Southeastern High School both climb sharply in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings for Indiana and the nation. The district credits record AP participation and strong exam results, with more students tackling challenging coursework and earning college credit while still in Fishers classrooms.

Fishers Common Council votes to establish 2 designated outdoor refreshment areas (fox59.com) — Fishers is preparing to launch two designated outdoor refreshment areas in the Nickel Plate and Fishers districts, likely starting Sept. 1 pending state approval. Residents will be able to carry alcoholic drinks within marked boundaries and hours, but must follow strict container, volume, and purchase limits, with $250 fines for violations and possible suspensions for safety concerns.
4. Flowering success: 101-year-old Fishers resident stays active, healthy with her garden (youarecurrent.com) — A nearly 101-year-old Northridge Senior Living resident in Fishers is turning heads with a towering sunflower and a bumper crop of tomatoes from her raised garden bed. Helen Nelson, a longtime Hoosier who stays active with gardening and games, shares how community support, good soil, and plenty of activities help keep her healthy and engaged in Fishers life.
5. Secretary of state candidates make their case at OneZone luncheon (larryinfishers.com) — Fishers just hosted all four candidates for Indiana secretary of state at a OneZone Chamber luncheon, giving locals a close-up look at their backgrounds and priorities. The contenders traded biographies and ideas on election integrity, business services, transparency, and voter participation, offering Fishers voters a clearer sense of what's at stake before November.
