Goodman Campbell marks construction milestone at new Fishers facility (larryinfishers.com) — A new Goodman Campbell Brain and Spine facility is rising in Fishers at 13680 Jack Walker Lane, with plans to open to patients in spring 2027. The clinic will feature 14 exam rooms, a pain procedure room, and on-site X-ray, expanding access to specialized neurosurgical and spine care for local residents.
2. Hot air balloons and hand-dipped apples: Conner Prairie's fall tradition takes flight (wishtv.com) — Fishers families can look forward to Conner Prairie's Jupiter Flights Balloon Festival Sept. 11-13, with more than 45 hot air balloons launching right over town. The museum's beloved Apple Store is already open through Halloween, offering hand-dipped apples, cider slushies, and extended evening hours Thursday through Sunday, plus more fall fun and the Headless Horseman event on the way.
3. Airbnb woes: Westfield resident speaks out about neighboring short-term rental (youarecurrent.com) — Fishers residents may recognize similar short-term rental tensions as a Westfield neighbor describes late-night noise, trespassing guests, and crowded streets from a large Airbnb near Grand Park. Westfield's mayor explains how state law has blocked cities, including Fishers and Carmel, from tightly capping rentals, though local officials are exploring limited regulations and urging residents to press state lawmakers for more control.
4. Fishers man charged after allegedly firing shots during Lawrence school dismissal, driving erratically and fleeing police (wthr.com) — A man identified as being from Fishers is facing multiple charges after police say he fired shots near two Lawrence schools during dismissal, then led officers on a dangerous pursuit. Court documents describe erratic driving through neighborhoods and construction zones, a brief standoff, and the recovery of firearms and shell casings near the school pickup area. His initial hearing is set for Sept. 8.
