1. Indianapolis men charged in violent Fishers home invasion (youarecurrent.com) — A Fishers family was violently robbed in their Washington Bay Drive home, and two Indianapolis men are now jailed in Hamilton County on high bonds, accused of using a machine gun and beating the homeowner. Police say a later traffic stop uncovered weapons, cash, masks, and a conversion device they believe link the suspects to the September 4 invasion and possible further surveillance of the victim.
2. Former Fry's site in Fishers remains vacant as city plays 'long game' (larryinfishers.com) — Fishers leaders are still playing the "long game" on the vacant former Fry's Electronics site along I-69, insisting on a high-impact redevelopment that fits their life sciences and corporate vision. With access challenges, a likely obsolete 180,000-square-foot building, and a high asking price, experts say the property could sit empty for years as the city uses zoning to steer future projects.
3. HSE shuts out Noblesville; Fishers falls to Franklin Central (larryinfishers.com) — Fishers football is still chasing its first win after falling 46–22 at Franklin Central, but the Tigers will get another shot at home against Westfield on Friday, Oct. 9. Hamilton Southeastern, meanwhile, dominated Noblesville 36–0, snapping a two-game skid and earning its first shutout of the season, setting up another conference clash at Franklin Central.
4. Data Breaches Announced by Saber Healthcare & Buchalter (hipaajournal.com) — Patients of Bright Smile Dental Care in Fishers should know the practice recently suffered a ransomware attack on a server holding records and imaging, though the data was encrypted and misuse is considered unlikely. Even so, the office is mailing notices, outlining what personal and health details were stored, and offering credit monitoring to those whose Social Security numbers were involved.
5. Move and Groove: People with Down syndrome, other disabilities find their rhythm in Indiana dance program (altoonamirror.com) — Families in Fishers are finding a joyful, adaptive outlet through Dance Abilities, a program at the Academy of Dance Arts designed for children and adults with physical or intellectual disabilities. With smaller classes, visual cues, and one-on-one helpers, the program focuses on confidence, connection, and fun rather than perfect technique, giving local participants a welcoming space to move, socialize, and grow.
