Dog Attacked By Pit Bull On Monon Trail
A man says he'll be carrying mace after his dog was attacked by a pit bull Sunday on the Monon Trail.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — An Indianapolis man is telling people to take precautions while his dog is recovering after being attacked by another dog Sunday on the Monon Trail, WRTV reported. According to the news report, Greg Humrichouser was running with his dog Pre Sunday morning between the Kessler Bridge and 61st Street, when a black pit bull with no tags bit his dog during the attack.
The man told WRTV the pit bull went right for Pre's neck, so he tackled the pit bull until it let go of Pre. A cyclist showed up, called 911 and sprayed the dog with mace, something Humrichouser said he'll be carrying every time he goes on a run.
According to the news report, animal control said the pit bull got loose from the person keeping it while its owner was out of town, and that they gave the keeper a citation for "having an animal at large." However, Humrichouser told WRTV he told animal control the dog needs to be put down.
