Fishers Looks To Pay $15.7M For Geist Park Site
The city of Fishers would have to pay $15.7 million for public park and beach land on Geist: Report

FISHERS, IN — AP News reports the city of Fishers is looking to pay $15.7 million for land along Geist Reservoir where officials want to build a public park and beach. That price was set by a Hamilton County judge for what Fishers would pay for the 69-acre site, which is the last undeveloped patch of land along the lake, surrounded in many parts by expensive homes, AP News reports.
Fishers had offered $9.7 million, while Mayor Scott Fadness told The Indianapolis Star the landowners wanted $38 million, and that the city will pay the amount set by the judge.
IndyStar reports some residents near the potential spot are worried about more road and lake traffic.
