Fishers Parks And Recreation Calling All 'Sleddy' Participants
Fishers Parks and Recreation to bring a sledding tournament, 'The Sleddy,' based off famous surfing tournament, 'The Eddie,' in Hawaii.

FISHERS, IN β Fishers Parks & Recreation is combining a world-renown surf tournament with a giant sledding hill to bring you The Sleddy. According to a release from Fishers Parks & Recreation, The Sleddy may take place between Jan. 3 and March 19 pending the right snowy conditions at Flat Fork Creek Park, with Fishers Parks & Rec releasing a statement 24 hours in advance on Facebook and Twitter if The Sleddy is happening.
According to a release, the snow and sledding event is inspired by The Eddie Aikau Invitational ("The Eddie"), the ultimate big wave surfing tournament in the world that only happens when conditions at Hawaii's Waimea Bay are just right. Some years the tournament is "on," and other years, it's "off."
If The Sleddy is "on," registered teams will assemble at the designated time with their sleds to launch the event. Children and adults can get ready for The Sleddy by recruiting teammates, registering their team and building their sledding device. Tailgating is available after the event, and alcohol, grills (no charcoal) and 10βx10β pop-up tents are welcome.

The Competition: Competing teams will be judged in three categories, and first, second and third place will be recognized. Categories include:
- Speed β score based on how fast the sled travels down the hill on a police radar.
- Distance β score based on how far the sled travels down the hill.
