Fishers Police Participate In No Shave November
How Fishers Police Department is supporting the American Cancer Society next month, and how you can join in.

FISHERS, IN – Next month members of the Fishers Police Department will participate in No Shave November, in an effort to raise money which will be donated to the American Cancer Society, the department reports. Officers who are volunteering in this month-long event will be raising awareness and showing support to those battling cancer. Starting Nov. 1, officers will put their razors down and begin this campaign, by "growing" awareness.
“We all have loved ones, friends, and co-workers that have been touched by cancer,” Fishers Police Chief Mitch Thompson said in a release. “As a police department, we are always seeking new ways to engage with the community and No Shave November will help us reach that goal."
FPD said when you see one of their officers, please know their scruffiness is purposeful and temporary.

FPD invites members of the community to join them in raising awareness for a great cause and reduce the stigma that is often associated with physical and mental health disease.
If you are also participating in No Shave November and happen to connect with a FPD officer, the department encourages you to invite them for a picture and send it to wegert@fishers.in.us to be posted on their social media platforms.
