Hoosier Lottery: Powerball Jackpot Jumps To Expected $550 Million

No one in IN or other states matched all 6 numbers for Wednesday's drawing, making the next jackpot the eighth largest in Powerball history.

Wednesday's Powerball drawing resulted in zero Indiana winners of the $460 million prize - or any U.S. state. Hoosier Lottery reports he Powerball jackpot will climb to more than half a billion dollars - an expected $550 million- for the next drawing on Saturday, Jan. 6, after no tickets matched all six numbers drawn on Jan. 3. Saturday's jackpot will be the eighth largest prize in Powerball history.

The winning numbers drawn on Wednesday were 2, 18, 37, 39, 42 and the Powerball number was 12. No one matched all five numbers and the Powerball number, but six players won second-place prizes by matching the first five numbers without the Powerball number.

You may also want to grab a Mega Millions ticket while you're out since the prize for that Jan. 5 drawing has increased to $445 million. This Mega Millions jackpot combined with Powerball winnings are just barely under $1 billion.
