Indiana Man Acquitted Of Shooting 2 Men Near Illinois Nightclub
An Indianapolis man has been acquitted for shooting two men outside an Illinois nightclub: Report

AP News says jurors have acquitted an Indianapolis man who was charged with killing a man and wounding another outside a nightclub in Danville, a city in eastern Illinois, nearly four years ago. The news report says the Vermilion County jury’s verdict came in the second trial of 34-year-old Dejuan Alexander for the March 2014 shooting near Club Deuce that killed Demaree Tetter. AP News adds that Alexander’s first trial in 2017 ended when jurors didn’t reach a unanimous verdict.
AP News says The (Champaign) News-Gazette reports prosecutors told jurors on Friday that Alexander was an aspiring rapper who was angry about being kicked out of the club. The (Champaign) News-Gazette adds that nine witnesses identified him as the gunman.
According to the report, defense attorney Hallie Bezner noted inconsistencies in testimony about the shooter's appearance, and also asked why there was no formal questioning for a man who tested positive for gunpowder residue.
