Kokomo Girl's Life Celebrated At Harry Potter-Themed Funeral
WXIN reported people who didn't even know the 11-year-old came dressed up to support her at her Harry Potter-themed funeral.

KOKOMO, IN — The life of an 11-year-old Kokomo girl was celebrated in a special way Saturday, thanks to a Harry Potter-themed funeral. WXIN reported Ryana Alexis Nix, who died Aug. 13 from leukemia, was a huge fan of the beloved wizard series, so her mom Kayla Beatty and the staff at the Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home discussed a Harry Potter theme for her funeral. During the funeral, family, friends, and strangers wore orange and purple ribbons in the girl's honor as the chapel was also decorated on point with the Harry Potter theme, according to the news report.
Dozens of Harry Potter fans who don't even know Nix's family came to her funeral dressed up as Harry Potter characters thanks to a local comic book store sharing the request on Facebook, WXIN said, adding that some people drove an hour and a half to attend. Her mom said Harry Potter was her daughter's escape from her pain, adding that Ryana had a Harry Potter book with her as she received treatment at Riley Hospital.
Nix was diagnosed with Leukemia in December and was also battling cystic fibrosis.
