No Charges Filed After 1-Year-Old Beaten At Indy Day Care

Prosecutors aren't filing any criminal charges after a 1-year-old was beaten at an Indianapolis day care: Report

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will not be filing charges after a 1-year-old boy was beaten last month at an Indianapolis day care, WXIN reports. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office reviewed the case involving baby Jesse, who had scratches and blood on his face when his mother picked him up on April 30 at Kiddiegarden day care at 38th and Oxford, the news report says. According to WXIN, day care staff told jesse's mother, Tiffany Griffin, that another child had injured him, though Griffin didn’t believe it.

Griffin told WXIN that she learned that no charges would be filed.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry confirmed evidence didn’t warrant charges, adding that baby Jesse's injuries were consistent with the staff's account of what happened that day.

However, WXIN reports that the worker on duty during that time frame was fired in addition to the Family and Social Services Administration ordering the day care closed on May 2.
