Fort Wayne gas prices fall more than 21 cents in the past week (wowo.com) — Fort Wayne drivers are seeing some relief at the pump, with average gas prices dropping more than 21 cents in the past week to about $3.83 per gallon, according to GasBuddy. Prices around the city now range roughly from $3.74 to $3.99, though they still remain significantly higher than a month and a year ago.

Fort Wayne downtown survey closing soon (wowo.com) — If you live, work, or spend time in downtown Fort Wayne, you have until October 8 to help shape its next 10 years through the city's Make It Downtown survey. Your feedback will guide a new strategic plan before it heads to the Fort Wayne Plan Commission and City Council in 2027.
3. 'COMMUNITY ORIENTED': FWFD honors late fire captain (21alivenews.com) — Fort Wayne residents are remembering Fire Department Captain Andrea Burton, a 49-year-old leader known for her work at The Safety Village and the Survive Alive House teaching kids fire safety. Colleagues and community partners praise her community-oriented spirit, leadership in Greater Fort Wayne Inc's program, and dedication to public education that has shaped safety efforts across the city.
4. Fort Wayne Community Schools to expand construction trades with $1 million property purchase (journalgazette.net) — Fort Wayne Community Schools has approved spending just over $1 million to buy a South Calhoun Street property so its construction trades program can expand next to its current Murray Street site. Most board members backed the tax-funded purchase despite one member's concerns about future property tax revenue and maintenance costs tied to the 1950s-era building.
5. Sept. 28: 5th Annual Welcoming Fort Wayne Award recipients announced (fwbusiness.com) — Fort Wayne residents recently honored immigrant, refugee, and local community leaders at the 5th Annual Welcoming Fort Wayne Awards, held at Purdue University Fort Wayne. The celebration, led by Amani Family Services, recognized individuals and organizations advancing multiculturalism in Allen County and confirmed that next year's awards event is already set for September 17, 2027.
