• Goshen Police lifesaving awards honor five officers for heroic actions (in.gov) — Five Goshen police officers were honored at Monday's City Council meeting for saving three lives in separate emergencies this year, including a cardiac arrest at Keystone RV and a near-jump from a local bridge. Their quick CPR, Narcan use, and teamwork with Goshen Fire and Goshen Hospital staff are credited with full recoveries and a dramatic rescue.
• Months after serious crash, South Ripley grad added to college bowling team (812noww.com) — A South Ripley graduate who survived a serious January crash has chosen Goshen College after rebuilding her strength through bowling and drawing interest from about 30 schools. She'll join the Goshen College women's bowling team, which opens its season at the Maple City Classic on September 19, while her sister continues recovering and thriving in a welding program.
