• Greensburg Jr. High Cross County at Jennings County Results (wtreradio.com) — Greensburg Junior High's cross country teams dominated at Jennings County, with both the girls and boys squads winning against six schools and several runners setting personal records. Local families can next cheer on GJHS runners at Brown County on September 19, where races begin at 9 a.m.
• Home on the Range… and Back on the Square: The Bison Returns! (wtreradio.com) — Greensburg's iconic bison statue is back on the courthouse square after a yearlong restoration donated by local artist Ryan Walterman. Originally created for the 2016 Bison-tennial project and purchased by Visit Greensburg, United Fund, and the City of Greensburg, the refreshed sculpture is intended to remain a downtown fixture for years to come.
• 11 Indiana animal shelters join US initiative, will temporarily lower adoption fees (wishtv.com) — Greensburg-area pet lovers can adopt from the Greensburg Decatur County Animal Shelter at reduced fees this month, thanks to a statewide "Empty the Shelters" campaign. Eleven Indiana shelters, backed by the Bissell Pet Foundation, will cut adoption costs to $70 or less from Friday through September 30 to ease overcrowding and help more animals find homes.
