10 Years of Climbing Indy Stairs for Clean Air, Healthy Lungs

Training, team building and fundraising kicks off for the 10th anniversary of the Fight For Air Climb at Salesforce Tower. The American Lung Association in Indiana announced today that registration is open for the event, which is set for March 9, 2019.

The Fight For Air Climb is the biggest stair climb in Indiana. It attracts thousands of Indiana residents who race up the stairs of Salesforce Tower (47 floors, 1,054 steps) in an effort to raise awareness and money to fight lung disease.

“The fall is the perfect time to start building your team, training and fundraising for the Fight For Air Climb. Stair climbing is a great way to stay active during the chilly Indiana winters, but also provides a fun activity for families, team building for corporate teams and a fundraising activity for students,” said Tanya Husain, the executive director of the Lung Association. “The Fight For Air Climb brings the community together to fight for something that impacts us all – clean air and healthy lungs.”

In Indiana, more than one million people suffer from lung disease, including more than 4,500 who battle lung cancer. The Fight For Air Climb raises awareness for lung disease, raises money for life-saving research, and funds critical local programing like educational programs to help local children better manage their asthma and free programs to help locals quit smoking.

Registration for the 2019 Fight For Air Climb is currently open online or by calling 317-819-1181. Climbers can register for a discounted price of $15 before January 12, 2019.
