Indianapolis Department of Public Works executes full-day flood recovery effort (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis Department of Public Works crews spent Saturday hauling away flood debris from hard-hit Ravenswood, River Park, and nearby Rocky Ripple, helping residents begin recovery after historic flooding. With at least 50 workers mobilized, teams cleared ruined furniture and trash from streets, drawing heartfelt thanks from homeowners who now face major rebuilding. City officials say the all-day effort was a success.
2. 2026-08-22 Daily Reporter 60163148 (greenfieldreporter.com) — Indianapolis residents can attend a public evidentiary hearing on September 9, 2026, at the PNC Center on West Washington Street, where state regulators will review Fountaintown Gas Company's proposed gas cost adjustment. The Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission session is open to the public, with accommodations available for people with disabilities who contact the office in advance.
3. State paying $625K to settle lawsuit over Braun firing utility commission member (journalgazette.net) — Indiana will pay $625,000 to settle a lawsuit over Gov. Mike Braun's firing of utility regulator Andy Zay, a dispute tied to a controversial AES Indiana electric rate hike affecting many Indianapolis customers. Part of the settlement covers Zay's legal fees through an Indianapolis firm, while a former Indianapolis City-County councilor has already been appointed to replace him on the powerful commission.

The entry list details every horse, trainer, jockey, and wager type, giving local bettors a clear look at the Monday, Aug. 24 lineup before heading to the track or placing a wager.
5. Thousands of Hoosiers not enrolling in federal safety net programs (wishtv.com) — Many Indiana residents who qualify for federal safety-net programs aren't signing up, even as families in Indianapolis and across the state struggle with food, cash assistance, and utility costs. A new Urban Institute study shows Indiana especially lags in cash aid through TANF, with only a small fraction of eligible families receiving benefits, raising questions about awareness and state-level barriers.
