Police union president: New IMPD north HQ will replace 'dilapidated' building (wishtv.com) — Indianapolis officials have approved $12.5 million for a new IMPD north district headquarters, replacing a 36-year-old building police leaders describe as dilapidated. Funded by a bond separate from the 2027 operating budget, the purpose-built facility will add improved security, bike patrol space, and a community gathering area for nearby residents.
   

2. Indianapolis Colts surprise 500 Pike Township students with new uniforms, school supplies and more (wthr.com) — Hundreds of Pike Township students in Indianapolis got a big boost as the Colts brought free uniforms, school supplies, and team gear to their campus through the Community Tuesday program. Players, cheerleaders, and mascot Blue also visited, and the team donated a washer, dryer, and 100 new library books, aiming to remove clothing barriers that keep kids from school.
   

3. Chris Ford's GoFundMe Profile (gofundme.com) — A mother who moved to Indianapolis so her Deaf daughter could attend the Indiana School for the Deaf is now rebuilding life after leaving a long-term abusive relationship. Staying with her sister, she's raising funds for safe housing, transportation, and therapy as both children adjust to new schools and routines while she starts over with a new job.
   

4. Indiana parole board schedules clemency hearings ahead of Weisheit execution (wthr.com) — Indianapolis residents will have a chance to speak at an October 19 parole board hearing at the Indiana Government Center on whether death row inmate Jeffrey Weisheit's sentence should be reduced. The board will weigh public testimony and a separate prison hearing before making a clemency recommendation to Gov. Mike Braun ahead of Weisheit's scheduled November execution.
