By April 2027, traffic patterns will change to right-turn-only plaza access and removal of a nearby stoplight, with additional improvements along 86th from Meridian to Allisonville and a future Monon bridge planned for 2029.

Police say surveillance video, a drone search, and a distinctive orange backpack helped link the teen to multiple incidents, and investigators warn that armed juvenile crimes remain a growing concern for Indianapolis neighborhoods.

New tool allows Indianapolis residents to track data center and other development proposals (wishtv.com) β Indianapolis residents can now look up proposed data centers, gas stations, and other zoning changes in their neighborhoods using a new free online zoning case viewer. You can search by address, area, or the case number on orange zoning signs to see project details and upcoming public hearings, making it easier to stay informed and speak up about developments near your home.

4. Family of Dalys Jett creating legislation proposal for transparency in police-involved shootings (wthr.com) β Indianapolis residents may soon see a proposed "Dalys Jett Act" aimed at tightening transparency and accountability rules after police-involved shootings, including faster body-camera releases and clearer review timelines. Jett's family, backed by City-County Council leaders, hopes to present the measure within months, saying they want stronger protections for other Indianapolis families facing similar tragedies.

5. See the redevelopment of City Market (indystar.com) β Work is underway to transform Indianapolis' historic City Market and open up its underground catacombs for public access. Current plans include demolishing the west wing and removing ceilings over the catacombs and former Tomlinson Hall, changes that could significantly reshape how downtown residents and visitors experience this longtime landmark gathering place.
