Black Bear Possibly Seen In Floyd County: DNR Officers

Indiana Conservation Officers are continuing to search for clues of possible black bear involved in accident in Floyd County.

FLOYD COUNTY, IN — Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a possible black bear sighting Sunday night, Nov. 18 on I-64 in Floyd County. Officers said an accident involving a vehicle and what witnesses describe as a "large animal" took place around 8 p.m. near mile marker 121.

Officers said witness accounts from driver and at least one other person led DNR officers and New Albany Police Department officers to search the area for the animal. However, the dark night hours and rugged, brush-filled terrain limited the search, according to officers.
