Carrier Corp. To Lay Off More Than 300 Employees 6-Months After Trump's Inauguration

Carrier Corp. will lay off 338 of its Indy furnace factory employees Thursday, which is the 6-month anniversary of Trump's Presidency.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - More than 300 Carrier Corp. employees will be out of a job Thursday at the company's Indianapolis furnace factory, exactly six months after President Trump's inauguration, IndyStar reports. The elimination of 338 jobs is part of a deal the President made with Carrier Corp. in December, and will be the first round of terminations in a total of 630 planned before the end of 2017, according to IndyStar. As Carrier Corp. moves work to Mexico, the layoffs are an effort between the President Trump and the company to prevent even more job terminations, as reported by IndyStar.
