Circle Of Lights: Sept. 13 Video-Recording Day For Those Without Recording Devices
PLUS: New audition process, guidelines and dates for all people interested in performing during Nov. 24 annual Circle of Lights event.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Video-recording audition submissions to perform during this year's Circle of Lights event on Nov. 24 continues through Sept. 18, meaning interested talent have just a few more days to submit their two-minute holiday-themed videos online. Wednesday, Sept. 13 is the day for those without the ability to record their own video to attend a video-recording event from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 130 S. Meridian St. It's a chance to record your audition with available equipment, as there will be no on-site, live open auditions, according to Downtown Indy, Inc. Those coming to record their audition are asked to bring background music on an audio CD.
Downtown Indy also adds there isn't an advantage to be gained by attending the video recording session instead of submitting your video online.
Judges will not be at the video recording session, only staff members who are there to help with the technology to record and submit your audition.

According to a release, Indiana entertainers, singers, musicians, dancers, choral groups and more talent are invited to audition via video submission to perform at the 55th annual Circle of Lights presented by IBEW #481, Friday, Nov. 24 at Monument Circle in Downtown Indianapolis. Downtown Indy provides additional information and reminders:
- Submit your video auditions now through Sept. 18 via www.wthr.com/CircleOfLights. It’s as easy as recording on your smart phone, filling out an online form and submitting online.
- Be sure to bring background music on an audio CD if you're attending the Sept. 13 video recording session.
- Judges are looking for talent, visual presentation and stage presence.
- Video auditions should not exceed two minutes. This time limit will be strictly enforced when watching the videos. Acts chosen for the show will have approximately 3 minutes to perform, but for the sake of time, we must limit video auditions.
- A capella acts are rarely chosen to advance, so please use recorded musical tracks while performing.
According to Downtown Indy, 20 finalists will be chosen and their videos will be posted online for the public to vote for their favorite Hoosier act, Sept. 22 through Oct. 1.
The performance with the most votes will automatically earn a spot in the final, invitation-only audition Wednesday, Oct. 11. A total of eight to 10 acts will perform live for judges.
Acts are encouraged to have a second number prepared should they be invited to the live audition. Singers are advised not to perform a capella.
Selected groups must commit to two evening rehearsal dates prior to the event and from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the day of the event.
