Country Duo Walker County To Perform National Anthem for Colts

Rising country music duo Walker County is set to perform the national anthem at the Indianapolis Colts game tomorrow, December 18 at the Lucas Oil Stadium. The show marks a sentimental cord for the sisters, as their hometown of Sulphur Springs, Indiana is only an hour away from the state’s motor racing capital, Indianapolis.

Sharing their excitement for the upcoming performance, the girls said, “Singing the national anthem is such a huge honor in and of itself because we are so thankful to live in such an amazing country. But to be singing it back home in Indiana for the Colts is just so incredibly exciting! We were born and raised in Indiana and we grew up watching the Colts play so this has been a bucket list item for the both of us for forever! We couldn’t be more thrilled they asked us to sing!”

The sister duo first fell in love with country music during their visits to Nashville, basking in the energy and music of Lower Broadway. They relocated to Music City and have since signed with Warner Music Nashville, and released a string of singles. Walker County extends their roots into traditional country, intertwining their soulfulness with southern rock flair. The band is a family affair, with Ivy on vocals, while Sophie keeps pace on the drums, and their father Billy on the guitar. Check out their latest single, “Liar” below!

Be sure to tunein to the game tomorrow, Saturday, December 18 at 8:15 PM EST to watch Walker County perform the national anthem and be sure to keep up with the girls on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for new music and upcoming shows.
