Hundreds Cheer As Police Talk Man Away From Indy Building Ledge
Witnesses say a man is safe thanks to police after he spent hours threatening to jump from a downtown building.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — After more than two hours of threatening to jump off the top of a downtown Indianapolis parking garage, witnesses tell Patch a man is now safe in the arms of police. Witness Nick Laparra said police were talking to the man at a distance as the man contemplated jumping from the building.
But towards the end of the incident, the man had a change of heart.
"He went and sat on the ledge (of the building) for the first time the entire two hours," Laparra said. "He got up from that position, and walked right off (to police). Must have been something about sitting on the ledge."
