Driver Trapped In Pepsi Semi Among 4 Hurt In I-465 Crash
Authorities said southbound I-465 near Rockville Road is now open Tuesday, Nov. 20 after being closed for hours overnight due to crash.
WAYNE TOWNSHIP, IN — Southbound I-465 near Rockville Road is back open Tuesday morning after authorities said several people were injured, including a man trapped inside a semi for nearly 15 minutes, during a multiple vehicle crash Monday night. Wayne Township Fire Department officials said they were called to the scene of a multiple vehicle accident on the interstate just before 8:40 p.m. involving two semis, a U.S. Mail truck and a Chevy Silverado all headed south.
According to WTFD, an adult male was trapped in the cab of a Pepsi semi before being extricated and taken to Eskenazi in critical condition. Authorities also said two other adult males were out of their vehicles and laying on the ground when firefighters arrived, adding it is unclear whether they were ejected or got out on their own. They were taken to Eskenazi in critical condition.
A fourth man was taken to St. Vincent Avon with minor injuries.

According to WXIN, Indiana State Police reported the Pepsi semi truck was disabled in the center lane of Southbound I-465 when the mail truck crashed into the back of it, trapping the semi driver. This caused the mail truck to spin in the way of the other semi, and the Chevy crashed into both of those trucks.
WTFD said Marion County Health Department was called to the scene for a small oil spill.
