Ex-Indy Police Officer Pleads Guilty In 2016 Detective Shooting
What Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry is saying about an ex-Indianapolis police officer who plead guilty in a 2016 detective shooting.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The Associated Press reports a former Indianapolis police officer pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated battery in the shooting of a detective who was investigating a domestic violence incident involving the officer and his estranged wife. According to AP News, Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry says 44-year-old Adrian Aurs to two counts of pointing a firearm in the July 29, 2016 incident, which involved the threatening of Aurs' estranged wife and a neighbor.
According to AP News, Curry says Aurs faces a maximum of 16 years in prison, and his sentencing is March 23.
AP News reports that according to a probable cause affidavit, Sgt. Robert Pearsey was interviewing Aurs’ wife when Aurs forced his way into the apartment and started shooting.

Pearsey shot back, but missed, and suffered non-life-threatening wounds to his right side and arm.
AP News says Aurs was arrested in Cincinnati hours after the shooting.
