Franklin Choir Teacher Accused Of Child Seduction Arrested

Report said choir teacher Alex Brickens was arrested Tuesday and Franklin Community High School has sent a note to choir parents.

FRANKLIN, IN — A Franklin Community High School choir teacher was arrested and taken to Johnson County Jail Tuesday and has since been suspended from the school for child seduction allegations. WTHR reported Alex Brickens is accused of child seduction, and was released on bond Wednesday afternoon a day after Franklin police arrested him in an investigation stemming from the accusations.

According to the news report, Franklin Community High School has made counseling services available, and Principal Steve Ahaus sent a letter to choir parents Wednesday morning regarding the arrest and his conversation with students.

In addition to praising the "courageous" students who came forward with information, the principal also wrote, "I opened the meeting by letting them know that we were made aware of Mr. Brickens’ arrest yesterday. Throughout this process, we have been in cooperation with the Franklin Police Department and sharing information under their guidance. We are not able to comment on these legal and personnel issues at this time."
