Fun Things To Do This Weekend In Carmel, Fishers, Indy: Sept. 22-24

This weekend centers around festivals, fundraisers and more.

Get outside while the weather's still warm and enjoy these events across the Indianapolis area, plus a few bonus events. Fun for adults and kids, including a couple fundraisers and several festivals. Here's a look at quite a few options for fun over the weekend:

Fishers Movies in the Park

La La Land will be shown at the Nickel Plate Amphitheater on Friday, Sept. 22 at sunset. Bring a blanket and pack a picnic for the free movie, or enjoy food available for purchase from mobile concessions. Be sure to share your pictures using #FishersMovies. Carmel Farmers Market

Saturday, Sept. 23 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Center Green. Plenty of local goods, produce, treats and more.

Indy Jazz Fest

Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22 and 23 will be two days filled with popular jazz and blues artists in downtown Indy. Performers, including multi-Grammy Award winner Norman Brown will showcase their music at downtown venues such as Madame Walker Theatre, The Cabaret at the Columbia Club and the Central Library. Indianapolis Chinese Festival:

Lions, dragons, food, gifts and drums will take over Indianapolis' seventh annual Indianapolis Chinese Festival at IUPUI’s Wood Plaza, Saturday, Sept. 23 from noon to 6 p.m. It's a free festival taking place during the month of Chinese Moon Festival, the second largest Chinese festival after Chinese New Year where the harvest is celebrated. There will be Chinese food, gift shops, kid-friendly games and chances to learn calligraphy.

Budlight Tailgate on Georgia Street

Tailgate before the Colts take on the Browns at Lucas Oil Stadium Sunday, Sept. 24 with pre-game fun on Georgia Street. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Bud Light Tailgate will have $3 Bud Light Tallboys, "Indy's Best Live Entertainment" on the Buick Stage, plus giant Jenga. More information: downtownindy.org

Buddy Up for Polo

Support Best Buddies Indiana programs while you experience polo fun at Indiana's only polo ground Saturday, Sept. 23. All family and friends are invited to bring a picnic and tailgate during the event, which will also include a silent auction, airplane candy drop, prizes and more fun. Gates open at 11 a.m. and polo starts at 1 p.m. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, however no grills are permitted. Admission is $20 per carload and all funds go towards Best Buddies Indiana friendships, jobs and leadership development. Leashed dogs are also welcome.

YWCA Put Yourself in Her Heels

Put Yourself in Her Heels is the YWCA of Muncie's signature event on Saturday, Sept. 23, designed to raise
awareness and show support to the YWCA’s residential program. For the event’s fifth
anniversary, the community will join in the YWCA's mission and participate in a one-mile walk
through downtown Muncie. Upon receiving the story of a woman, community members will
walk for women who utilize the residential services at the YWCA. For the first time women and
children can participate in the event, with no heel wearing required. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. and the walk kicks off at 9 a.m. Participation in the walk is free, with a t-shirt guaranteed to those who registered by Sept. 15, and a complimentary breakfast.
