Future Policeman 'Inconsolable' After Mini Police Car Stolen

Taylorsville kindergartener who wants to be a police officer is "devastated" after his prized toy was stolen Wednesday night.

TAYLORSVILLE, IN — A young Taylorsville boy is deeply saddened after someone stole his miniature electric police car he received during an exciting birthday moment about a year ago. The Republic reported 5-year-old Conner Burton, who wants to be a police officer someday, cried himself to sleep Wednesday night after his special gift was taken from the sidewalk on the side of the Circle K gas station at the corner of U.S. 31 and Tannehill Road just after 8 p.m. Wednesday. Conner's mother, Brittnee Squibb, filed a police report after the incident, which she said happened when she accompanied Conner and his 1-year-old brother, Hunter, in their little car from their Driftside Trailer Court home to the gas station for a snack, the news report said.

After leaving the car and going inside the store for what Squibb said was about three minutes, the car was nowhere to be found.

Conner received the mini police car from his grandmother, Vonda Pacek, who at the time worked as a dispatcher in Edinburgh, The Republic reported. With the help of some officers, their cars, lights and sirens, Conner was presented with his gift during his birthday party in the most memorable way, the news report added.
