Goose Island Beer Co. Brings Migration Week Events To Indianapolis
DETAILS: All the events taking place during Goose Island Beer Company's Migration Week Wed. Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 15 in Indianapolis.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The weather might still be warm, but it's time to start migrating. That's because Goose Island Beer Company is bringing beer, food and music to Indianapolis next week for Migration Week - five days of celebrating Goose Island Beer, the Chicago-based beer company whose brews are enjoyed by many in Indianapolis - and beyond. According to a release, Goose Island Beer is throwing several events beginning Wednesday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 15 with local chefs, businesses, charities and more.
Migration Week's Highlighted Events:
- The Midwest Rock Show: $5; Doors open at 8 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m. at The Melody Inn, 3826 N. Illinois Street.
- He-Said She-Said Beer Dinner: Thursday, Oct. 12, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Thunderbird, 1127 Shelby St. Goose Island said Chicago Chef Matt Troost will join local Chef Kristen York (the mastermind behind Thunderbird) in creating a memorable four-course beer dinner.
- Music, Art, and Beer with Goose Island & OJ Hays: $10; Friday, Oct. 13, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Speak Easy, 5255 Winthrop Ave. #110. Head out to The Speak Easy to enjoy Goose Island's best beers, fresh-spun vinyl and an incredible live art installation by Chicago-based artist OJ Hays, who is fresh off his tour as art director for Chance the Rapper. All proceeds will benefit to Indy Urban Acres.
- Sofie Brunch: $15; Sunday, Oct. 15, with welcome drinks at 11:30 a.m. and food served at 12:30 p.m., Indy Urban Acres , 7700 E. 21st St. Goose Island is partnering with Chicago’s Bang Bang Pie Shop and the Indianapolis Parks Foundation to throw a brunch benefiting Indy Urban Acres. Come out and spend a perfect Sunday eating delicious food, drinking tasty beers and listening to some live music - all for a good cause.

- Thursday, Oct. 12: Free; Beer & Coffee Class. Event runs 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Kaffeine Coffee Co., 707 Fulton St. Another event, Flash Flock, kicks off at 9:30 p.m. at Ale Emporium, 8617 Allisonville Road. The free event will center on Goose Island crew members meeting new people, and seeping on beers together.
- Saturday, Oct. 14: Free; Volunteer Day with Keep Indianapolis Beautiful. Tree planting is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Whitehall Commons, 4403 W. 47 St., and happy hour is from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Union Jack Pub in Broad Ripple. The Meet the Brewer event (free) starts at 3 p.m. at Big Red Liquors, 1067 Broad Ripple Ave., where you can meet Goose Island Brewer, Dan Floyd, and have a chance to sample some "gems straight from our cellar in Chicago." Make sure to enter a special raffle for a chance to win the opportunity to purchase some rare bottles of Goose Island beer. Then end your day with Flash Flock #2 at Fat Dan's (6 p.m., 8410 N. College Ave.) and Blind Owl (8 p.m., 5014 E. 62 St.). There will be a tapping of 2016 Bourbon County Stout Coffee at Fat Dan's, and favorite Goose Island selections at Blind Owl Brewery.
