Gymboree Closing Hundreds Of Stores, Four In Indiana

Indiana locations include Bloomington and Greenwood stores.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - After filing for bankruptcy last month, children's clothing retailer Gymboree plans to close nearly 350 stores, including four in Indiana, USA Today reports.

According to USA Today, these Indiana locations are:

  • College Mall - 2950 E. Third St., Bloomington
  • Eastland Mall - 800 N. Green River Rd., Evansville
  • Greenwood Park Mall - 1251 US 31 North, Greenwood
  • Southlake Mall - 2236 Southlake Mall, Merrillville

The closings, scheduled to start this week, are part of Gymboree's move to restructure in bankruptcy, according to USA Today.

Children's clothing shoppers may know Gymboree also runs Janie and Jack and Crazy 8 stores, and will still have more than 900 locations after the hundreds are shut down.

The company hopes to focus more on locations with the best potential in an effort to improve profitability, USA Today reports.
