INDIANAPOLIS, IN — If you want to support hurricane relief efforts along the Gulf Coast, the Indianapolis Fire Department invites community members to participate in Hoosiers Helping Houston. According to a release, IFD fire stations will accept bottled water, packaged snacks, juice in non-glass containers, diapers and baby wipes between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7 and Friday, Sept. 8. IFD said the collections are a community-wide endeavor to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

IFD said First Lady Steph Hogsett and Mayor Joe Hogsett are encouraging all residents and City-County employees to do their part.

If you can't make it out to one of the IFD stations Thursday or Friday, you can take items directly to Kroger drop-off sites.
