IN Senate: Sunday Carryout Alcohol Sales Are OK

The measure is on its way to the House. If made into law, it will allow for stores to sell carryout alcohol on Sundays.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The Indiana Senate approved a measure Monday, pushing forward the repeal on a ban prohibiting Sunday carryout alcohol sales, according to reports.

Passing by a 39-10 vote, the Senate's measure is now moving onto the Indiana House, which has its own proposal on the matter, WGN9 reported. Republican Sen. Ron Alting of Lafayette proposed the Senate bill.

If they pass, the bills would allow stores to sell carryout alcohol from noon to 8 p.m. Sundays. WGN9 reported the House is expected to "vote soon" on the measures.
