IMPD Investigating After Man Killed On City's South Side

IMPD reports a man died at Eskenazi Hospital after officers located him inside a south side home, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a man was shot and killed Wednesday on the city's south side. IMPD says officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Knox street just before 1 p.m. on a report of a person shot, where they found a man inside a home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. According to IMPD, the man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital by IEMS, but died from his injuries after arriving.

Officials say IMPD detectives aren't sure of the motive or suspect(s) in this incident, but are being assisted by the Marion County Forensic Services Agency in the investigation.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office (MCCO) will determine the cause of death.
