IMPD Officer Hospitalized After Motorcycle Crash In Speedway
A driver is being investigated for hit-and-run after IMPD officer was hit in Speedway and taken to hospital.
SPEEDWAY, IN – An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer was injured Friday morning in a motorcycle crash in Speedway. WXIN reports the crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. at 25th and Philwood Drive when police say a female driver hit the officer, who fell off his motorcycle. The officer was escorting someone to the track when he was hit, the news report says.
The driver tried to leave the scene, but was stopped and is being investigated for hit-and-run, WXIN reports.
The officer was taken to Methodist Hospital where police say he's alert and conscious.
