INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Arrests were made Monday afternoon after anti-poverty protesters taking part in the "Indiana Poor People's Campaign" blocked downtown's Capitol Avenue near the Ohio Street intersection, The Indianapolis Star reports. The news report says Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were heard over a loudspeaker telling protesters that they couldn't block the street, eventually arresting at least two of the protesters who went in the street.
Protesters shouted “No justice, no peace!” and held signs during the local version of the "Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival."
