Indianapolis Girl Hospitalized After Dog Bites Her, IMPD Officer

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- An Indianapolis girl is hospitalized after she and a police officer were attacked by a dog Monday morning on the city's northwest side. WRTV reports the 7-year-old girl was waiting at a bus stop around 9 a.m. in the 6100 block of Cooper Road when the dog came up and attacked her, biting her in the face. WRTV reports an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer responded to the incident and was also bitten.
The young girl was hospitalized and her condition remains unknown, WRTV says.
The officer was also treated at a nearby medical facility after he was bit.

WRTV reports police say it took two police officers and an animal control officer to get the dog into a van, as officers had to use a taser to subdue the animal until they could get it under control.
