Indianapolis Welcomes Thousands Of Firefighters For Annual FDIC
Annual FDIC kicks off in Indianapolis as thousands of firefighters are in town for training, classes, exhibits and more through April 28.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The annual Fire Department Instructor's Conference (FDIC) kicked off in downtown Indianapolis Monday morning, welcoming thousands of firefighters from across the country and some from across the globe. IFD officials say the conference runs through April 28 and events will take place at the Indiana Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.
A number of H.O.T sites are also taking place for practice and training, with Brownsburg and Greenfield coming in as new sites, IFD says, adding that more than 3,000 firefighters are participating in the hands-on training.
The training, classes, exhibits and products at a number of booths will make up the event which has been taking place every year for more than two decades in Indianapolis, and 93 years total, officials say.
