Man Killed In Near East Side Shooting Identified

Details of the suspect police believe is involved in the Thursday shooting that killed a 36-year-old man.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Police report the Marion County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a Thursday shooting near the city's east side. 36-year-old Philly Alexander Jr. died at Eskenazi Hospital after suffering from gunshot wounds, Fox59 reports. According to the news outlet, police are investigating the shooting, which began when they heard gunshots nearby while investigating a different incident around 10:45 a.m. Thursday in the area of East 10th Street and North Rural Street.

Fox59 said police responded to the area where they heard gunshots, and found a man on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds.

A police report claims officers believe the suspect is a black male between the ages of 25 and 35, reportedly wearing a black long-sleeved jacket or top and black pants.
