Nearly $500,000, Drugs, Gun Found At Indianapolis Home: IMPD East
What started as a response to a report of shots fired led to a big discovery for IMPD.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Officers from Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department East District responded to a neighborhood report of shots fired with possible suspects leaving the scene, where they soon found more than just "suspects." IMPD East District said the officers arrived to the scene where they immediately noticed signs of narcotics activity. IMPD said officers secured the scene and contacted the East District Narcotics Unit and Flex Team who got a search warrant, and recovered nearly a half-million dollars, drugs and a gun.
In addition to the $479,982, authorities recovered:
- 4 kilograms of cocaine
- 1 pound of marijuana
- 1 ounce of meth
- 1 firearm
Police said this is an ongoing investigation, and thank the citizens of Indianapolis for calling in crime and getting drugs off the street. Police also thank the great teamwork between all the officers involved.
