Pacers Bikeshare Expanding In 2019
Indianapolis Cultural Trail announces an expansion to the Pacers Bikeshare program. Here's what to expect.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Whether you enjoy or have yet to try the popular Pacers Bikeshare program in downtown Indianapolis, you'll be able to ride through more areas starting next year. Indianapolis Cultural Trail announced Tuesday that it will be expanding its Pacers Bikeshare program in 2019 with 25 additional stations and 250 bikes thanks to a federal grant. Pacers Bikeshare will have more access to neighborhoods, the City's greenway network and Broad Ripple, according to a release.
The City of Indianapolis was awarded a nearly $1 Million Federal Highway Administration Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) grant for the Pacers Bikeshare expansion to neighborhoods near downtown, more stations along the Monon Trail and more.

“Since 2014, downtown residents and visitors alike have enjoyed the transportation and connectivity benefits provided by the Pacers Bikeshare program, which is why we’re excited to bring this network of bikes into our neighborhoods,” said Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett in a statement. “At no additional cost to our taxpayers, we are doubling the amount of bikes and stations offered, and will be sure they land in the right places thanks to public input received in the coming weeks.”
Indianapolis Cultural Trail says the Pacers Bikeshare expansion goals include growing the EveryBody Rides program, which would provide bicycle education, subsidized bikeshare passes, group rides for residents in low income situations and attention to station location and resident access to affordable transportation.
