Police Report Elderly Man At Center Of Silver Alert Found Dead

Silver Alert cancelled after a missing Sellersburg man was found dead at public interstate rest area.

CLARK CO., IN — Indiana State Police report a man at the center of an Oct. 3 statewide Silver Alert was found dead Wednesday afternoon in Clark County. Police say an attendant working at the rest area on I-65 North near the 22 mile-marker contacted the ISP post at Sellersburg on report of a deceased male inside a car parked at the rest area. ISP said troopers discovered 81-year-old David Eugene Cox (pictured), from Sellersburg, dead in his 1995 white Ford Probe.

Police say the vehicle was parked on the north side of the rest park's Welcome Center.

ISP said the investigation into Cox's death is ongoing, however no foul play is thought to be involved in this case.
